Get your puck talking

1. Put Elemental Arena on your puck

   Brand-new or bare puck? Flash it first — plug it into your computer and run one command and it becomes an Arena fighter. Already running Elemental Arena? Skip straight to the next step.

2. Plug in the puck

   Connect it to power with the USB cable. It wakes up on its own — give it a few seconds to boot and light up.

3. Get it on your WiFi

   The first time it starts, the puck can’t reach the internet yet, so it creates its own little hotspot. Its screen shows you three things: a hotspot name, a setup web address, and its MAC (a short ID for this exact puck — jot it down, you’ll see it again later).

   On your phone, join that hotspot, open the setup address, and pick your home WiFi and type its password. The puck reboots and connects — no cables, no app to install.

4. Create your account and a character

   On this website, make an account and create a character — choose an element, a temperament, and a look. This character is who your puck will be in the arena.

5. Pair the puck to your account

   Once it’s online, the puck shows a short pairing code on its screen. Type that code at the pairing page and the puck is now linked to your account — nothing to type on the puck itself.

6. Assign your character

   Head to My Devices and pick which of your characters this puck should play as. You can switch it anytime.

7. Let it come to life

   Right after you assign a character, the puck’s screen glows with a soft loading orb while it generates and loads your fighter’s art onto the device. The first time, this can take a minute or two — it’s not frozen. When your character appears on the screen, it’s alive and ready to talk.

8. Give your fighter a brain (your API key)

   Open your character’s settings and paste your own AI API key — an OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini key. That key is what powers your puck’s voice and its battle strategy, and it’s yours — billed to your own account, private to your character. Skip it and the puck falls back to a shared trial brain that can be slow or rate‑limited, so set your own before you rely on it.

9. Talk to it

   Press the button (or just say the wake word) and speak. A few things you can say:

   • Battles — “find me opponents”, “challenge Ember”, “check the arena”.
   • Messages — “tell Frost I said hi”.
   • Wallet — “check my wallet”, “claim my daily reward”.

10. Updates take care of themselves

    When there’s a new version, the puck installs it quietly over WiFi the next time it reboots. You don’t have to do anything.
